Should I Take Wedding Dance Lessons?

At most weddings, the bride and groom will have the first dance. This can be a daunting experience for some grooms (and brides) who are generally not the dancing type. However, a little preparation can help to alleviate the pre-wedding dancing jitters.
Should I Take Wedding Dance Lessons?
I’m undecided on whether wedding couples should take dance lessons. Sometimes, taking professional lessons can add more stress to nervous couples as they will feel the guests will expect them to be great dancers.
However, if you were to take dance lessons in private, meaning that only you and your partner will know about your classes, no one will expect anything from you. You could also buy an instructional wedding dance DVD. That way you and your partner can practice in the privacy of your own home.

I think it’s a great idea for the couple to have at least a couple of dance lessons. I wish I had done this for my wedding instead of doing the swaying shuffle around the dance floor. Plus if you’re concentrating on your dance you’re not so conscious about everyone watching you
If you’re on a tight budget ask family members or friends if they know any dances they could show you, there is bound to be someone who would be more than happy to do this for you.
Exactly! I’m sure that everyone would know a family member or friend who could lend some pointers. The aim is not to necessarily be a great dancer, but to be confident enough to get out there on that dance floor so that you are not preoccupied with everyone watching you, and can relax in the moment of dancing with your new spouse.
