Daily Wedding Blog:

Cut the Cost of Your Wedding Photography

To trim the cost of your wedding photography, unless the album is free, don’t get one from the official photographer. Chances are you will get an album for a wedding gift anyway from one of your guests and if you don’t you can find one cheaply from a department store. If the package comes with an album, ask the photographer if they can reduce the fee by eliminating the album from the package

Also, since you obviously don’t care about your wedding at all, drop by St Vinnies where you can find a dirty white blouse for your wedding dress. You can really wear whatever since you won’t be preserving the memory in a real, long lasting, beautiful wedding album.

Think of all the money you will save – you really will come out on top!

Just because someone may be trying to save money on their wedding, doesn’t mean that they don’t care about their wedding! I am a bride who negotiated for just a dvd of photots from my photographer.

I think the point of the post was that not all wedding couples can afford all the extras from professional wedding photographers and I think it’s a valid point. We all know that wedding albums and wedding frames are token wedding gifts anyway. I’ve never met a bride who hasn’t gotten a photo album as gift – I got 3 of them!

From your username I take it you are a wedding photographer and I can see why you might react negatively to this post, but can you honestly say that you have never tried to cut corners in another area of your life, which might have inadvertently affected someone else’s profession? Have you ever downloaded music online? Used a self-serve checkout at a supermarket rather than go to an actual person? Bought something online from overseas rather locally?

  3. Thanks for your comments. Daily Wedding Blog is primarily written for couples who are planning a wedding on a budget. This is our target demographic, so we do understand, that unfortunately it is unavoidable, that some of our posts with our budgeting tips may alienate some wedding vendors.

Having said that, we welcome wedding vendors to share with our readers their perspective on issues surrounding the wedding industry via guest blogging an article on the topic.
